Here are some tips to help get the most out of your wedding coverage

1) Importance of light

Light plays a big role in photography. For weddings in particular, light helps create variety of mood and shape the story of the day. For outdoor shoots try to take advantage of soft light conditions where possible, usually early mornings and late afternoons on bright days, while overcast days tend to produce good light throughout the day.

These soft light conditions will give even illumination to the your face and dress. Also the reduced glare means no squinting eyes and the cooler temperatures mean less sweating so your make up won't wear off as quickly. Pleasant conditions also make it easier to relax and smile which is what is most important.

If shooting in the middle of the day is unavoidable, harsh shadows can be ovecome by shooting in the shade or by using a "fill-flash", reflector or flash-gun with softbox. Fringes or stray hairs can pose a problem when shooting like this as they can cast dark shadows across the face, Its best to have your hair up or secured away from the face in these conditions. Similar problems can occur in windy conditions.

2) Posing for photos

Some brides love to pose for the camera, while others prefer relaxed, natural shots taken discreetly. Either way, it is very important for you to remind yourself to smile, maintain good posture and above all relax, and enjoy the day. Also try not to be shy in expressing your affection for your family, friends and of course your husband. These moments will make for great memories captured in photographs.

3) Finding your best angle

Brides may have found what they believe to be their best angle in the mirror and insist the photographer always take the shots from that particular angle.

By all means let the me know your preferred angle, so I can keep it in mind, however you are likely to have many 'best angles' which change under different light conditions, backgrounds, and situations. I will always try to find the best angle, and can shoot from angles not easily glimpsed in the bathroom mirror.
